Rathfinny Blanc de Noirs 2015


Rathfinny Estate Blanc de Noirs 2015 is the first vintage of our premium Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier blend, produced from grapes grown and hand-harvested on Rathfinny Wine Estate.

There will always be a limited production of our premium Sparkling Blanc de Noirs as we source the best grapes from across the Vineyard to blend these wines. As a result, all customers are limited to a maximum of three bottles each.

Introducing the Rathfinny Blanc de Noirs 2015

As a Pinot Noir-dominant house, our Blanc de Noirs (a white sparkling wine made from black grapes) is perfectly presented as our signature sparkling wine. We believe our Sussex Sparkling is best experienced when accompanied by the finest food, whether in the world’s best restaurants or at home with friends and family.

Tasting Note

Gilded amber on the eye, with an expressive nose of caramel-drizzled red apples and malted biscuit, a fine mousse of poached plums over cinnamon toast and a sea-salted hazelnut finish.

Food Match

Rathfinny Blanc de Noirs 2015 is an outstanding partner to the robust flavours of Vietnamese-style caramel pork, chipotle-grilled pork porterhouse or mesquite-grilled quail with pancetta and sage.


Spring arrived late in 2015 after a cold winter, both budburst and flowering were a week later than 2014, but we had a reasonable flowering and a warm summer which helped ripen a small crop. We began harvest on the 19th October and despite the rainfall in August and September the fruit was very clean and of good quality.

“Made from a blend of 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Pinot Meunier, the Blanc de Noirs opens with a distinctly spicy notion of tart nettle and pepper-edged hedgerow fruit on the nose. The palate is brisk and fresh, revealing a sleek, statuesque structure and very fine mousse with beautifully integrated acidity. There is real substance at the core. The finish is appetising, dry and mouth-watering. It is the hedgerow fruit and spice that makes this so beautifully English.
